It's good to see organisations update their online systems, in favour of modern standards and features. The new taz.de website is built on an open source content management system and uses modern web development techniques such as XHTML and CSS.
Unfortunately, the site falls short in a number of areas, in particular accessibility. For this reason, I have detailed a review of the technical details of the site, and included a number of recommendations for improvement.
Although the lacking accessibility was the main motivation for compiling this document, I have include minor comments on a number of other aspects of the site, and drafted a more compliant example of how the site might be improved.
